50 States for Good Judge Encourages You to Vote Today!

Posted on Sep 09, 2010

If you haven’t yet had a chance, please take a moment to cast a vote (or two!) in the final days of Tom’s “50 States for Good” initiative. Click here now and vote for an organization you care about - whether the cause is close to your heart or the organization is located near your hometown. As the manager of Yahoo! for Good, my company’s Social Responsibility department, I lead Yahoo!’s online cause marketing initiatives so I was excited when Tom’s of Maine asked me to be a judge for this year’s program. I, along with four other judges in the non-profit space, evaluated 60 different organizations, helping to determine the Top 41, which are now being voted on by the public. When voting closes on September 10, five non-profits will each receive $20,000 in funding that they’ll use to complete important grassroots projects and provide communities with valuable services. With causes ranging from greening urban spaces to animal rights to youth-focused projects, it can be a tough choice, but collectively, I’m sure we’ll make the right one!

Tom’s of Maine is also giving away 40 $100 Good Cards®, a gift card for charity that can be redeemed as a donation to more than 1.2 million organizations through Network for Good. When you vote for your favorite finalist, you can opt in to the random drawing. The 40 charity gift card winners will be notified after voting closes. So what are you waiting for? It’s all for good!

Screw you Colgate for ruining my T.of M. Deoderant. You are the problem with America. It took me years to find a deoderant that wouldn't make me break out in a rash. Then you go and buy a green company to "get in" on the all-natural market and the first order of business is to switch out good ingredients for junk. If you work for Colgate, you are selling your soul.

I am unhappy with your "odor protection" product. It DID NOT stop the odor from my under arms and it gave me an extremely bad rash under my arm. I have breast cancer and my Doctor told me I should use a deodorant stone as some of the Aluminnium Free deodorants have been known to give a rash. She did not tell me which did this. I purchased for $7.95 from Walgrens your Deodorant Stick. A week ago I developed a RASH that is burning me and I don't know how to stop it. I then purchased a NOW Crystal from the Health Food Store near me for $6.95 and I works like a charm - easy to use and keeps the body odor away. I am very dissapointed with your product and wanted you to know that I have posted a disatisfaction note in all the areas that I can about your product and will make sure all of my friends are aware of the drawbacks of your products. I think the worst thing is the Rash but NO the worst thing is that it DOES NOT stop the ODOR. Judith K. Wood
