Explain a typical day in your job.
In a typical day, I ensure that our Sanford factory is scheduled to produce everything we plan to sell, and then make sure that all the purchases of raw materials are in place to support the production. Then I try to improve all those activities. Inventory is optimized; capacity is managed; and vendor relationships are built to ensure sustainability and cost effectiveness. If successful, Tom's of Maine can fill 100% of our customer orders within 24 hours with minimum inventory and cost.
What attracted you to Tom's of Maine?
I came to Tom's of Maine because I wanted to work for company that manufactures wonderful products and shares my values. I bike to work in beautiful coastal Maine; I solve challenging problems in purchasing and manufacturing; and I work toward goals to benefit the community and the environment.
What is one word you'd use to describe Tom's?
Entrepreneurial.
What's your favorite Tom's product and why?
Spearmint Flat Floss is my favorite product because it leaves my teeth feeling great.
