Explain a typical day in your job.
I start every day at our half hour morning meeting with representatives from all areas of the factory to get a pulse on how things are running. We literally have a standing meeting (no sitting allowed!) to agree on what we need to do as a team to keep your favorite products coming off the line. I often host visitors to create links with the community, with the rest of the company, and with our vendor partners. I might gather a cross-functional group to review the details of a new product launch, and I might meet with a factory leader one-on-one to review work plans. I always don my Personal Protective Equipment (hair net, ear plugs, etc.) and spend time on the production floor working with the team to improve how we make and package our products.
What attracted you to Tom's of Maine?
I came to Tom's of Maine because I wanted to work for company that manufactures wonderful products and shares my values. I bike to work in beautiful coastal Maine; I solve challenging problems in operations; and I work toward goals to benefit the community and the environment.
What is one word you'd use to describe Tom's?
Entrepreneurial.
What's your favorite Tom's product and why?
Spearmint Flat Floss is my favorite product because it scrubs between my teeth and leaves them feeling great.
