The Tom’s of Maine Professional Advocacy division proudly awarded $5000 to the
Georgia Perimeter College Dental Hygiene program for its SADHA contribution to community service in 2006. The presentation was made during the ADHA Annual Session Student Reception in Orlando, Florida. The goals of these dental hygiene students included reaching as many members of their community as possible, with a focus on underserved and in-need populations. Services included oral hygiene evaluations and instructions, oral cancer screenings, caries screening, and preventive sealants. Students reached approximately 500 members of the community in three days of service.
