Shasta College: First California school to partner with Tom's of Maine

Shasta College is the first dental hygiene program in California to initiate a partnership with Tom’s of Maine, and Tom’s of Maine Professional Advocate Wendy St. Cyr, RDHBS, visited with the group recently to present her talk "Working with Nature to Make a Difference."
Shasta College Dental Hygiene program values excellence in education. Director Charles Cort RDH, MS, completed a master’s degree while teaching full-time. Program coordinator Karen Henderson, RDHBS, returned to college after 30 years of private practice to obtain a bachelor’s degree in order to accept a teaching position in this program. Since the program’s inception in January 2000, the committed faculty and staff, such as Paula Guerrera, consistently graduate students with dazzling GPAs and rankings in the top 10% on the National Board Exam.
The Northern California Dental Society contributed $700,000 to the college, forming a “first-of-its-kind” partnership with the school.
