Pam Scheeler, B.S. Project Team Leader, Consumer Care

Ms. Scheeler has a bachelor of science in biochemistry from Lehigh University. She joined Tom's of Maine in 1990; prior to that, she worked in the Biochemistry and Microbiology group at Unilever Research.

During her time at Tom's of Maine, Ms. Scheeler has been actively involved in oral care formulation and testing, regulatory issues, and project management. She has been an instrumental advocate in the company's use of intra-oral testing models to demonstrate anticaries efficacy of fluoride toothpaste products in lieu of animal testing, and was responsible for the successful submissions to the American Dental Association's Seal of Acceptance Program. Ms. Scheeler also played a significant role in Tom's of Maine's successful and ground-breaking petition of the Food and Drug Administration to accept an intra-oral model as an alternative to the monograph-required rat caries test.
