Goodness Report

Our Commitment to Healthy, Human and Environmental Goodness

We
believe

in healthy, human and environmental goodness. Since 1970, our partnership with our customers has redefined the very idea of good citizenship. Today our standards remain high and our goals are even higher. We invite you to explore our progress.

Ingredients &
Product Quality

Our passion for goodness and quality stretches back more than 40 years. We've always believed it's what's inside our products that counts and that you have a right to know. That's why we share every ingredient, its purpose and source on our website. Being honest is the way we do business and providing transparency about our ingredients is the first step toward ensuring quality.

Energy

We share your commitment to using less energy from smarter sources. What's good for the planet is also good business practice. Conserving and switching to newer technology are two big opportunities in the kind of work we do. And working together with our transportation partners can make an even bigger difference.

Waste

Everyone at Tom's of Maine can help cut waste and we realize our combined efforts can bring meaningful results. We are trying to make the most of all materials we touch. Innovative ideas being put to work in our manufacturing process are especially exciting and motivate us to try even harder.

Packaging

You expect us to find more environmentally friendly ways to package our products. We expect it from the brands we buy, too! That’s why it’s a priority. Zero packaging waste in landfills is a goal we can all get excited about. And the search for new packaging alternatives and technologies will help bring us closer.

Community

Community is about taking care of our families, coworkers and neighbors in need. The decisions we make as a company are grounded in being kind to others and in creating a work environment where there is a feeling of being truly responsible for one another.

Water

We know you feel strongly about clean water and that’s why it’s our priority, too. In fact, our first product back in 1970 was a phosphate-free laundry detergent designed to reduce pollutants introduced into waterways. Our commitment remains strong and now more is being done to make a difference.
