Susanne Kuehl joined Tom's of Maine in 2003, attracted by the values in leadership espoused by founder Tom Chappell. As Professional Advocacy Team Leader she acts as manager of educational marketing, national meetings, professional advertising while operating as a liaison between industry and our health association partners. She is dedicated to educating health professionals about natural oral care, its relationship to wellness, and Tom's of Maine Natural Care products. Along with developing educational and promotional materials about Tom's of Maine's values and products for health professionals, she is passionate about building relationships with professional and educational associations and offers support programs, sponsorships, and presentations.
A graduate of Westbrook College, Ms. Kuehl has over 25 years of experience as a dental hygienist and periodontal co-therapist working in private practice. One of seven hygienists chosen nationally to work as a consultant for Oral-B, she served three years on their Dental Hygiene Advisory Board, providing technical input on new products. Ms. Kuehl has also been employed by Professional Dental Technologies as a sales representative in New Hampshire and Maine, acting as a professional liaison at dental meetings, seminars and conventions giving product demonstrations and educational lectures on soft tissue management.
Ms. Kuehl recently completed her B.S. degree in Marketing Management from Daniel Webster College with honors. She is passionate about advancing policy that will improve access to care and enjoys building collaborations with all partners in oral health. Currently acting as the Legislative Chair for the New Hampshire Dental Hygiene Association and
recently elected to the position of president-elect, she is able to use her leadership skills to advocate for change. She has chaired numerous committees for over a decade in her community and is an active member of the American Dental Hygiene Association. She currently serves on the Access Industry Advisory Board for ADHA and the Dimensions of Dental Hygiene Corporate Council, providing input on industry trends and research developments. Her continuing professional education includes certification in facilitation, coaching, community building, and conflict management. When she is not talking about teeth and gums, Ms.Kuehl is dedicated to fostering authentic dialogue and applying systems thinking to improve both the process and outcome of discourse.
