Chamomile flower [CO2] extract

What does it do?

German chamomile contains a mixture of compounds that have been recognized for their soothing properties. The essential oil from the chamomile flower in particular promotes soothing and can reduce irritation as well. Our gentle, clean extraction technique (which does not generate chemical waste) creates a concentrated extract of chamomile.

What are the alternatives?

There may be other alternatives out there but we have found German chamomile to be the best fit for Tom's of Maine because it has such a strong history of use as a soothing ingredient.

What are the risks?

Those with known allergies to the aster family (also known as the sunflower family) may experience allergic reactions with chamomile as well. Tom's of Maine recognizes that no two people are alike, and even with pure and natural ingredients, some individuals may develop an allergic reaction that is unique to them. As with any product, be sure to discontinue use if you experience discomfort or other indications that the product may not be appropriate for your individual body chemistry.

What is it?
