Ginger

What does it do?

Ancient tradition and modern herbal practitioners recognize ginger as an ingredient with numerous ameliorative and health-promotion benefits, a perspective we find fascinating but inapplicable to our oral care products. We have included ginger in our toothpaste solely because we love the deep, distinctive flavor it adds.

What are the risks?

Zingiber officinale has no known toxicity or carcinogenicity. It has a long history of safe use as a food ingredient and is Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. Tom's of Maine recognizes that no two people are alike, and even with pure and natural ingredients, some individuals may develop an allergic reaction that is unique to them. As with any product, be sure to discontinue use if you experience discomfort or other indications that the product may not be appropriate for your individual body chemistry.
