I really wanted to like this deodorant, being earthy crunchy and health conscious, but the Apricot deodorant burns my armpits! They're also brown and swollen. What the hell, Tom's?

The old formula stick worked perfectly. The new 24 hour protection one doesn't. Come on Tom's, don't mess with a tried and trusted product just to claim 24 hour protection. Sadly you have lost my business and confidence in your product.

I am all for products that do not biodegrade into cancer, but I must say it does not last on me for 24 hours and it burns my arms a lot. =[ I tried it out for an entire month, and the irritation did not subside.

Switched to Tom's in an effort to reduce exposure to harmful chemicals. Smells wonderful and does what it says (keeping the odor away) but my skin is so dry, itchy and irritated that I'd rather go back to the chemicals (which never bothered my skin!)

Tried it and I really liked it. I also bought the odorless one for my autistic nephew who does not like how deodorants smell. I wish I could get a few coupons for the products -- as I am on a limited budget and use coupons to buy products I use.

If I could give it 0 stars, I would. This has been the only deodorant so far to give my armpits a peeling job. Skin was coming off my armpits, and now I am uncomfortable, to put it mildly.

this product after applying it caused my armpits severe burning and stinging sensation....continued after using for a few weekds as well...will have to discontinue use and see if there is another natural deodorant out there that won't sting and burn....

I have suffered for quite a while with an oversweating issue. If any body has had that problem, you know how the problem can make you feel. I have tried almost all forms of deodorant that includes aluminum. I even went to the prescription strength products in hopes to help. I went to the doctor and he stated I might need Botox to help. I had a bright idea to try Tom's to see if it is possibly all the "junk" in the other deodorants that could be causing a reaction. After 4 weeks and going through several situations that would cause a person to sweat more, Tom's has held up. Thus far, I have not had the problem that I have had in the past. I will continue to buy Tom's and the rest of the family is changing as well. Thanks Tom's.

It's a good product. The only problem is that when your armpits get sweaty, the deodorant stick formula starts to melt onto your pits. At least it keeps the SMELL away, but it makes your armpits FEEL like their sweaty.

I can't bring myself to trust inconclusive studies about anti-perspirants causing cancer, but I wanted to try something more natural. Ten years of AP and nothing bad ever happened. Two WEEKS of Tom's and my underarms are red, itchy, and peeling. :[

I used to love this deodorant. I recently bought a new stick. My armpits have been peeling, burning, and red ever since. I just compared ingredients with my old stick, and it now has Cymbopogon flexuosus oil (in "unscented"). Will never buy again.

After using Tom's of Maine products for almost 20 years, my family and I will not be buying any Tom's products ever again. I don't know if the company changed their ingredients after selling a controlling interest in the company, or if they decided to now source their ingredients from China, or what. But I've used the unscented deodorant for almost 20 years with no problems. Now within 1 minute of applying it I have a burning sensation under my arms, the area turns red and becomes itchy. Tom's! What have you done to your product in the name of corporate profit! For Shame! What you did is even WORSE than Netflex! Because this time, it affect my health! I feel betrayed by Tom's of Maine.

I used to rely on the fragrance free. Now that it's "combined" with the unscented concept I am reacting badly again. With the fragrance free, I don't know any deodorants now that won't cause an allergic reaction. Sincerely disappointed.

After switching to Tom's, I found my armpits have been sore and peeling. I can see I am not alone in this--is anyone at Tom's addressing this issue? Why is this happening now with "good" deodorant when "harsh" antiperspirant never bothered me?

I used this, keeping in mind that it was not an antipersperant,ad while on the stick it smells wonderful, a couple hours after i put it on it often begins to get a bitter, chemically smell that is really unpleasant. I dont usually sweat a lot when I dont wear deodorant, but this made me sweat like crazy. I dont know my body really didn't jive with it.

I am not sure, but this only works for a few hours with my body. I barely sweat and I can smell BO. I have never had a problem before and do not have BO smell even without an deodorant. I will never purchase this product again.

I love the apricot deodorant. It smells nice, and though I notice that I smell more "natural", it's not the same as sweat. I no longer get yellow sweat stains on clothing from a reaction to the aluminum.

Used Tom's deodorant products for many years, no problems. Recently discovered they're replaced by "new" versions; bought one. Within a week, my underarms were red & skin peeling off. I see I'm not alone. Go back to the old versions.

I have been using this deodorant for a long time and love it!!! My favorite is apricot scent, but recently bought original unscented to try. I am allergic to deodorants that have aluminum but not Tom's deodorant, which does not have aluminum.

I have recently moved to Tom's of Maine deodorant and I am happy i did, the Lemon-gress smell is sweet and amazing. i didn't have any problems of any sort in my armpits. if you're unsure if you're allergic or not test it first in a safe area.

I love the scents I've tried, and I haven't had any irritation or other bad side effects. I put it on before my morning workout, and it generally lasts until dinnertime unless it's a super-hot day. Then I just apply a little more, no problem.

My first Tom's purchase. I loved the lavender scent, and it lasted through a good workout. However, after a week of use, the skin in my armpits began peeling. No pain, but it peels like a sunburn. I wish this was made better. Am discontinuing.

Make sure you are not allergic! Like many others I've found on the internet, my armpits are red, swollen, and raw after using this product. You will probably be better off with the aluminum based brands! This was my first Tom's purchase and last.

I purchased the "soothing calendula" and had a terrible reaction immediately after 1 application. I had the same breakout with bad burn and rash previously, but thought that I possibly let the deoderant stick get old. But this was obviously not the case, like all the others it is definitely the active ingredients in this product that is causing so many people to suffer with the same discomforting conditions. TOMS need to correct this problem or discontinue this product too many people are being affected. SHAME ON YOU TOM'S FOR IGNORING THIS PROBLEM!

I saw the Apricot version in a 3 pack at Sam's next to my regular anti perspirant. I've been contemplating getting away from aluminum for a while and thought I'd give it a whirl. Happy I did!! It works great and it got me through some +100F days. Way to go Tom's!!

Burnt my armpits so bad I had to use ice to help calm things down, & no, I hadn't shaved prior to using it. Wish I'd read the reviews before going out & buying 3 of them! Now I'm afraid to try any brand of natural deodorant as I have no idea what ingredient caused such a bad reaction.

Most other deodorants caused a rash on me except for Toms's original. But recently when I went to get my usual 2 sticks they only had the new 24 hour product. The rash is back! Now the search is on once again for a deodorant that doesn't cause a rash. PLEASE bring back the original! PS. Anyone want to buy a stick and 3/4's very cheap?

I've been using Tom's deodorant for almost a year now, and I've been pretty happy with it. I've used both the apricot and lavender, although I like the apricot best. I've never had any problems with skin peeling or burning like others have mentioned.

I have really not experienced the burning like the others have. Although, after I shave, I have to wait before I use the Lavendar or it does burn, but its not super painful and goes away in a couple minutes. My skin has peeled, but only on the perimeter of my armpit and very little. I find it to be a pretty decent deodorant. If I exercise or sweat alot, then it kind of doesn't work that great. But all in all it works pretty good, doesn't stain my clothes like those with Aluminum, and has a nice scent. I like the long-lasting formula.

I so wish this worked, but within about 20 minutes of wearing the unscented I already have odor. It's actually better if I don't wear anything! I've had better luck with kiss my face's roll-on. (Now what do I do with this expensive, useless deoderant?)

Decided that aluminum containing unscented deodorant caused lymph node pain. Switched to Tom's Apricot a few months ago and it has been perfect. I recommend being patient before making final conclusion on its odour control capability. Need time to adjust to new product. After a couple weeks use, I was completely odour free (that's quite a profanity filter)

This deodorant has to be my favorite. They all smell great unlike other brands that have deodorants that smell like the pink tablets in urinals. Lavender is quite relaxing but apricot is very sweet smelling and i love that too.

Other deodorants really irritate my pits, to the point I have to not use them for a day or two. ToM's is different, I can use it every day no irritation AND it works perfectly. The containers are recyclable at any Gimme Five center too.

At LONG LAST...a natural deodorant that actually works. I tried Tom's long ago..along with an Avalon Organics deodorant, Kiss My Face, Burts Bees...even one of those darn salt crystal rocks....and have been disappointed each time...UNTIL NOW. I am in LOVE! Finally a natural deodorant that keeps the promise. I have used and will attest that there is NO ODOR...and little if any sweat..THANK YOU AND PLEASE DONT STOP MAKING IT!!!!

I bought the Apricot scent because I loved the fragrance. I haven't experieced any burning, and I use the deodorant every morning. The fragrance doesn't last very long, but my underarms do stay odor-free. :)

I thought I'd give this a try, so I bought the Long Lasting Apricot. It smells great and works for a few hours, but after that, I have to reapply. Definitely NOT long lasting like it claims. I wish I would've read reviews before purchasing.

I love Tom's products and thought I'd try the deodorant since it's aluminum free. Like a lot of other posters on here, it worked well for the first week. Yesterday, I noticed that my underarms hurt. Today I went to apply the deodorant, and the skin immediately started burning and aching. My skin is also peeling. Never again. . . Wish I could give it zero stars!

Like some other's I have an ithchy, burn rash under my arms from using Tom's Natural Long lasting Lemongrss deoderant. I picked this one after trying my wife's Natural, Original deoderant - Honeysckle Rose, with no side affects. The only identified difference is the Zinc Ricinoleate additive in the Lemongrss*. Could this be the cause of my reaction? * had to spell this way otherwise the site says I have used a profanity when I add in the "a". Same with the "u" in Honeysckle Rose!

I bought the Apricot and I was happy with it for a few days, but now it only works for a few hours at a time. On especially hot days, it's really not worth it. Really dissapointed because I wanted an alternative to traditional deodorants...I'm not used to smelling myself and frankly, I don't like it!

I bought the Apricot deodorant and after the second day, my skin was burning! It started to burn as soon as I put it on. I am not sure which ingredient is causing this, but there was no irritation advice on the back. I bought this deodorant since it is natural, but if it is, it should not burn.

After reading about the connection of aluminum in antiperspirants and cancer I bought this non-aluminum deodorant. I was actually surprised at how well it worked for being just a deodorant. After a week and a half of use my skin started itching and is now burning,itching and peeling like crazy all around my underarm! I have never had a reaction to any skin care/body are product in my life...and I see I am not the only one with this issue. Tom's of Maine you should be ashamed that you have not addressed this issue as this has been happening to people for YEARS! Ugh! Will never buy another product from this company again.

I tried the long lasting unscented just because I wanted an unscented deodorant. It works all day long, which is a miracle for me, however I developed a severe rash after the fourth or fifth time using it. I am 45 and have never had a reaction like this to anything. Now I need to figure out which ingredient causes this.

The deodorant works great! Even without all of the chemicals and unnatural smells. Its goes on great and soaks in so I never have to scrub to get it off! Highly recommend (especially for people not wanting to use chemicals.)

I had a really bad reaction to the apricot scented deodorant. The kind without fragrance didn't break me out but it also did not keep me odor free. I really wanted to like this because your toothpaste is wonderful. Reformulate!

I have tried both the Lavender and Apricot scents of Tom's long lasting deodorant without success. It did not protect me from odor, and I had to switch to another natural deodorant that offered better protection. I still love Tom's toothpaste, though.

I've used the apricot scent for a few years now, and any time I ask my friends to take a whiff, the most common response I get is "I'd like to eat it!" It smells so fresh, and works great, too!

Does the job, no BO. Subtle. Prefer "real" fragrance to strange bug spray smells of traditional Men's products ie: Axe, Speedstick. Sensitivity issue (very minor) for first day but it seams to have gone away. Wife has not complained of sensitivity.

I was quite skeptical about using Tom's deodorant because I have always used Dove or Secret deodorant and I just wasn't sure about the quality of this brand but, making a courageous decision, I took this deodorant on my vacation to Florida and it lasted all day even in 98 degree weather with 84% humidity! This is an awesome product and I recommend it to everyone!

This deodorant caused the skin under my arms to burn, turn bright red, and peel off in sheets (much like a sunburn). Maybe I just have really sensitive skin, but I see I'm not the only one that has had this problem. If you want natural deodorant make your own. That's what I did.

I love this deodorant. I've tried other natural deodorants but they made me itch. This doesn't do that, it lasts all day, and the scents are great. I'll never use anything else.

This product is a major disappointment. I am among the hundreds, possibly thousands of people who have suffered a severe allergic reaction. I'm itching really badly and have a hideous rash all over my underarms. Don't try this product, buyer beware!

I've been looking for a deodorant like this for some time. I really like the lavender scent, and works exactly as described. This has really helped me feel more confident in my deodorant. It lasts the whole day!

Before using this product: I've always been an excessive sweater and have relied heavily upon antiperspirants, never trying deodorant. I'd still sweat a lot, but I'd also get this nasty armpit funk smell by the end of the day too. I've recently started getting concerned about the aluminum content of antiperspirants, and I've also gotten tired of trying to wash off sticky antiperspirant residue from my underarms every morning in the shower. I reluctantly decided to try this product. Now, I look forward to putting this on every morning. The lavender smells amazing. My armpits have never stayed more dry. I smell nice until around 6 or 7 in the evening, which is when the nice lavender smell starts to wear off. Still, it's not offensive and you can only smell anything at all if you get really up close and personal! I am in love with this deodorant, and recommend it very highly. It is so much better for your body!!

I bought this product because it's not tested on animals; I didn't expect to be so impressed by it! TOM'S Apricot Deodorant works better than anything I've ever used! It lasts all day and it makes me smell like apricots :)

I realized that Tom's didn't cost much more than my regular deordorant, so I thought, hey, why not try it. Wow!! I smell great all day and no pit stains at all:) I'm switching for good.

This deodorant works as well as I expected for a natural product, although I did NOT expect to feel the burning on my armpits after a few uses. I found a website where MANY people have also experienced this, and some have had even worse experiences.

This is a wonderful product. It smells great. keeps me dry! Have been using it for a long time. Now my children are too. I feel safe using it because its free of aluminum. Great product highly recommend.

Finally an aluminum-free deodorant that actually works. Everyone I know has converted to TOMS and no one goes back to the other stuff. Even my dad uses TOMS. This is the New Deodorant for the New Generation. So, thank you!

a new medicine makes me sweat (and stink) more than usual. this deodorant was the only one to help me with odor, with the added benefit of not containing aluminum. i am very satisfied with this product, i just wish it was cheaper!

I usually use clinical strength deodorants, but decided to give this a try. As far as smell is concerned it worked wonderfully. Unfortunately, it gave me an allergic reaction, too - with red, stinging skin. I wish this weren't the case :(

This product works great for sweating and preventing odor. Unfortunately I had an allergic reaction to the active ingredient, "zinc ricinoleate"! Please use caution when trying this out as it turns out a lot of people are allergic to it (regardless of the scent you pick out). It can cause peeling of the armpits, redness and pain and I have been using it for months unaware of the fact that the deodorant was causing the problem. I love Toms, but I'm very upset over this discovery and unfortunately will no longer be using this product.

This is the first deodorant I have EVER used that doesn't make me sweat within minutes of putting it on. I only sweat when I am exercising like normal people. I used to always wear dark clothes because whenever I wore other deodorant w/ antiperspirant I seemingly sweat through EVERYTHING. THANK YOU FOR MAKING SOMETHING THAT WORKS GREAT!

I used to "need" Extra Strength deodorants, etc. until I started reading the ingredients...and experiencing weird side effects with skin in my underarms! A friend recommended Tom's and I found some immediately. Since then, the side effects have cleared, the Tom's works wonders, & I haven't looked back! (smiling)

This product is absolutely fabulous and the only one I ever use. The lemon scent is light and refreshing and odor protection is truly 24 hours. I love that this is phalate and paraben free, like all products. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a superior product at an excellent price.
