I so wanted to love this product but...really...it wasn't good! It doesn't last and my armpits smell by the afternoon and all I do is sit at a desk. This also caused a lot of itchiness and flaking of my skin after using it!

LOVE THIS PRODUCT!! So happy to have found a product free of aluminum and still have the anti-persperant effect. I used to used coconut oil in my switch from chemical free beauty products, it didn't do the trick quite like Tom's Of Maine. All of those experiencing a rash effect from this, do not go back to chemical products! your body has to be reacting to the lack of chemicals, I actually got a rash from organic pure virgin coconut oil when I started using that, it only lasted about 5 days, I kept applying the oil and it gradually went away. Do not think it must not be good if you have a rash, your body needs to adjust to natural products, makes sense right? eh..

I absolutely love this product! The apricot scent smells so good! I don't sweat much, but I do get stinky pretty early in the day. I have not had any odor problems since I've started using this product and it's even been considerably warm out. My favorite things about it are that it leaves zero residue on your skin or clothes, dries quickly, and stopped the itch my previous deodorant had caused. Just wanted to point something out based on previous reviews, it is only a deodorant and NOT an antipersiprant. Keep that in mind if you sweat heavily.

I was so excited when I found this aluminum-free product--and for the first couple of days, it actually worked. But now I've developed a rash under both arms, and see from the reviews that many other people have had this problem. Really disappointing! And ironic that a "natural" and "healthy" product would give me problems that the chemical-filled commercial brands don't.

This product does not work. I had to contact company for a replacement. It is sticky, does not dry and you stink when using it. I had never had a body odor problem, but this product does nothing to control the wetness, or body odor.

All of Tom's Deoderants work. It takes a couple weeks for your body to detox and for it to begin working. So don't give up during the first couple weeks. In the long run, you will be healthier.

Just purchased my first stick yesterday to avoid aluminum in deodorant, but this does not work! Put it on at 8am and by 10am I was a smelly mess! It's not hot out (about 68) and I haven't done any strenuous activity (have been sitting at my desk). I am normally pretty sweaty, and I did not expect this product to combat that, since it is just a deodorant, but I did expect it to work as a deodorant. Will try for a couple more days, with re-applications, but if today is any indication of how its going to be, I want my money back. VERY DISAPOINTED.

I really wanted to like this product, but after a few uses it gave me a stinging rash in both armpits. As an anti-persperant it is useless, just made me feel sticky. And as a deodorant it worked for a few hours maybe then quit.

I wanted to try a deodorant that is better for me than the chemical-filled anti-perspirants that are on the market today. This one is a failure. I apply it 2-3 times a day (even though it says 24 hr protection) and my underarms still smell :(

I confidently purchased the product becasue i thought they had the consumer's best interest in mind. I did not realize until after i brought it home that the main ingredient is PROPYLENE GLYCOL. Even if the deoderant worked wonders, i would not feel safe having this ingredient transdermally absorbed through my skin. I was totally fooled by the "natural" "FDA says it is safe" BS. This is like the Arm and Hammer company having triclosan in their "natural" deoderant. I see that the men's deoderant is now propylene glycol free, so at least that is a move in the right direction, i just feel totally dumb for trusting this company's purity claim. my fault for not researching the ingredients with EVERY product, didnt think i had to with this company.

I switchedto this deodorant because I stopped shaving my armpits and my normal deodorant wasn't working as well. I've been using this one for about a month or so, and it was great at the beginning but I'm noticing a lot of skin peeling now. Fix it!

I tried the apricot scent and I burned and broke out in a rash but I tried my husband's men version and it works! I would recommend that you give the men's version a try because it's PG free which I believed caused my irritation.

This is the 2nd type of Tom's I've purchased. I try to use all natural "green" ingredients. I tried this one and the lavender. Both of them have made my underarms peel and I got a really painful rash. Plus, it made me stinky after a few hours.

toms deodorant is aluminum free. aluminum deodorants ( dove, secret, etc ) are bad for your health and have been linked with skin problems! also every non aluminum stick you get instead saves about 30minutes of electricity! it works great too!

This is the worst deodorant I have ever used. It made me sweat more than usual, but that is not the worst effect this worthless product gave me and many others I noticed. It gave me very dark rashes under my arms and it made my skin peel. There are so many complaints about this product, it shouldn't even be on the market.

I understand that many people feel this deodorant did not work for them. I think I know why. You have to really scrub your armpits to make sure bacteria is washed off since this product does not have aluminum and will not block your natural hormones.

I bought this product back in December. It worked really well as far as odor control and lasting. Then I noticed about a week ago when I noticed the skin on my underarms had started peeling. So bye-bye, Tom's. It wasn't bad while it lasted.

It's a little sticky and doesn't last nearly as long as big name brands - it lasts only about 5 hours. However, I don't mind reapplying because I'm using an aluminum-free deodorant (aluminum clogs pores to prevent sweating and is linked to cancer).

Researching all the statistics about cancer and having no idea about my own med history, I decided to drop the aluminum products. It took TWO weeks for this deodorant to work! I think it is because my former antiperspirant had clogged up my underarms so much that this new product couldn't do its job. It has now been a YEAR and I have been very satisfied! My underarms have a mild scent when sweaty but otherwise, they're fine and some day I go without ANY deodorant and have no complaints from family, friends, co-workers, patients. My skin is so much smoother and my clothes are not stained.

Product burnt while applying during 1st use and this did not change after a weeks use! Also while it smelt good upon applying, after a few hours my arm pits began to have a BO smell to them (and it's winter yet). Gave 2 stars only because the ingredients are natural and at least Tom's is trying to offer natural product even if not working for majority.

I bought the apricot one. I've seen a fair few reviews complaining that it's caused a rash on people, perhaps because of the hops, so I was reluctant but my experience of this product has been excellent. It's caused me no irritation at all, the scent lasted a long time, it smells almost exactly like subtle fresh apricot (very nice), and it kept my body odour away for 24 hours. This product is very soft and creamy and a little goes a long way. A light wipe once against the armpit is all it takes. It might also be pertinent to mention that I'm male, I don't shave my armpits and I shower everyday. If you do shave your armpits it might be too harsh, hence the rashes some people get. And if you go a few days without washing and need something to mask the odour this might not be for you as the scent is very fresh and fruit like but subtle. I think this product is designed more for preventing odour than masking it.

As a bre*st cancer patient, I needed to find an alternative deodorant before radiation was to begin. I wanted to start in advance in order to get used to the difference. I tried a few scents and both armpits began to peel quite badly. I had to stop using it. I would be interested to know if your deodorants should not be used for certain/all chemotherapy agents. I am sad that I am unable to use Tom's . I do like your other products

Only plain feminine deodorant available in stores near me. I use unscented because fragrances dry out my skin. Most days I can get away with one use, but when I'm sweaty I have to reapply. No rash, and no skunk armpits! I just wish it was cheaper.

Years ago my homeopathist told me to get off aluminum-based deoderant. I used the Thai stick for a while and that ate up my skin, making it raw and red. I went back to regular Lady's Speedstick Powder Fresh until things healed (took about 6 months). I used the Thai salt rock thing again. The same thing happened. Someone had told me that Tom's products didn't work, so I never tried them. I went back to Lady's Speed Stick. Years later, since I have been taking even better care of myself, I decided to give Tom's a try. I am totally amazed! Seriously. The smell is good. My armpits are now smooth, and the strangest part is that when I was using the conventional kind (Lady's speedstick)--after washing my armpits in the morning--there was still some lingering odor that never fully went away. With Tom's--when I wash my armpits in the shower, all forms of body odor disappear. And at the end of the day, when I take off my clothes, I always smell my clothes, and I can smell a little bit of sweat, but not the kind of B.O I had at the end of the day using the Ladystick. So, I feel very good to get away from aluminum once and for all. And to be smelling good even after a day of hard work. I am grateful that King Soopers carries Tom products at their grocery stores and that I decided to give it a try. Thanks Tom's!!! P.S--I believe that everyone has different chemistry and that is why you see so much variety in the results here. Cheers to no b.o.!

I am very sensitive to something in most brand name deodorants but not to the Tom's unscented or the few scented Tom's that I've tried, so I'm quite happy with it. It doesn't stop all odors under all conditions but is much better than nothing with I was a possibility I was faced with. I've tried a few other hypo-allergenic brands from health food stores but they didnt work quite as well for me.

I like that this product is free of aluminum. That is why I use it. It keeps me free of odor for a few hours at the office but I will admit it doesn't last the whole day. Since I will never use a product that has Aluminum, this product is much better than nothing at all. I am very glad they make it for me.

I've used the unscented "Aluminum-Free Deodorant Stick" twice - six months apart - and had a severe allergic reaction both times. Apparently some people allergic to ragweed are also allergic to products containing hops; there should be a warning.

I was so excited to try Tom's, and so devestated when, within an hour of application, I smelled my own body-odor! I have never, ever struggled with body odor, even 24 hours after application, so I was shocked to have these results. I love the lavender scent, and wish my baby boy would be smelling that instead of the offensive alternative when I carry him on my hip. So now, I apply Tom's several times a day, as often as I can, and am looking forward to the day it runs out so I can go back to my old, albeit 'un'natural, deoderant stick. :(

Liked it at first, has a nice light scent. Found out it does not keep odor away for more than a couple of hours. Gave me a burning rash, almost looked like my skin was burned and peeled away. Very painful! Finally healed and hasn't happened again.

I've used both versions for years to avoid aluminum. Loved both. You should always do a patch test before using plant ingredients though, and I've found certain scents, like perfume, don't mix well with my body chemistry, so keep experimenting!

I have been using Tom's products for years. I recently purchased the new Long Lasting deodorant and developed a rash in both underarms. I believe that it is the ZINC ingredient(s) that have caused this.It is a new ingredient for this product. I have tried to get in touch with customer service but they do not answer. I can only wear deodorant as I am allergic to antiperspirant. This is one of the only types of plain deodorant that my local store keeps in stock. It works great & doesn't irritate my skin, but it's more expensive compared to other brands for size.

I have been using the lavender and apricot deodorants, and they work much better than if I use no deodorant at all. By mid-day I do start to notice I'm a little stinky, but when I ask trusted folks if I stink, they don't notice it.

After I sent back 2 sticks of deodorant for a refund due to the horrible peeling and redness under my arms, you sent me a check which is great customer service. I cashed this check. And now my bank says the check was returned because Tom's of Maine needs to "release" the money from my refund check. So much for 100% satisfaction guaranteed!! RIDICULOUS. OUCH. The unscented version of this product left me with some serious irritation, itching, burning, and a whole lot of red and scratching. Sadly, I'm a new user of Tom's products and I can't say this was a positive experience by any means.

This is the first aluminum-free deodrant I tried. I was very disappointed. I could smell my own perspiration. I would not recommend this product.

I love the faint smell of this product, the fact that it does not leave a white residue on my clothes, & most important, that there was no testing done on animals! Oh, and it works awesomely....

I am very disappointed in this product. I used to use the roll-on and it was very effective. The store was out of the roll-on so I bought this form of the product and it doesn't work! I bought 3 sticks and it was a waste of money. And besides being stinky I also have a rash on my underarm skin! Extremely disappointing.

By far the best "natural" deodorant ever! It works best if: You don't over apply, and you wipe your underarms with alcohol & let that dry before you apply this product. Tom's you have a regular customer for the long haul.

I am a cancer survivor who is on medications and have been struggling with odors for almost 2 yrs. I tried every deodorant you could find. I always have to carry deodorants in my purse so I can refresh during the day as they dont last for long. Then I saw Toms Long Lasting deodorant sticks at Reny's Store and decided to try it, I was amazed at the difference. I am pleased to say I no longer have odors and that makes we feel more confident when I am around people. Thank you for this great product.I am now a customer for life. Just went back to the store to stock up as I dont want to ever be without it as it took me a long time to find a product that actually works. Great job Toms!!!

I used this deodorant and hoped it would be better for my underarms since I can't wear antiperspirant because of irritation. This one left a dry, itchy, ugly rash on my underarms and I just threw it in the trash this week.

I am sad to say that the Toms deoderant that I purchased does not work at all. I smell horrible about 6 hours into my day. I iwsh deoderant was returnable because this was a waste of $5-6.00. Sorry. Normally Toms products are top of the line.

My local store ran out of Tom's 'Naturally Dry' deorderant so I tried Tom's 'Long Lasting' deorderant. I'm sad to say that it doesn't work as well as the Naturally Dry version. If the aluminium in Naturally Dry isn't an issue for you, I recommend you opt for that one.

I love the way Beautiful-Earth smells. It keeps me protected all day long. The only time it loses a bit of effectiveness is when I am perspiring more than usual such as on a hike or a long, active day. However, it's excellent for the average day.

I made the mistake of thinking that Tom's would be gentle. The propylene glycol in this deodorant is a harsh irritant for some, but not all, people. For me, it caused red itchy skin. This is an allergic reaction, not a natural result as some other comments have implied.

I wanted to love this product. However, it is giving me some kind of chemical burn. My skin is peeling and discolored. My skin isn't sensitive, and I've only been using this deodorant for one week. Please look at the formula behind this product. Many customers have posted similar comments.

I used the deodorant for about two months. It took awhile for the product to work but then it was working fine. Just recently I developed red and itchy bumps. I will have to discontinue using this product. I hope it works for other people.

Hate giving this 1 star as it's the only deod to actually work for me but it gave me a rash after a week & I stocked up on it bc it worked so well at odor control. What ingredient is causing the rash? I wanna keep using it but I'm SO disappointed :(

Just like everyone else said, it didn't work at all for smell the first day. Then it sorta worked day 2 and 3 but by day 4 my arm pits were bright red (seriously) and itched. Very disappointed. I heard Tom's sold out to a big company, lame.

I was at a metal show this weekend from 4pm to 2am inside an extremely hot venue with a bunch of sweaty guys and still came out smelling fresh. i was surprised and extremely pleased with how well this deodorant works.

OK I have tried nearl every non aluminum (hippy) natural deordurant out there including natural salt crystals trouble is I have sensitive skin (more so since given nup rubbish products!)- and I get v sweaty and bad BO...but this works- I have now got 3 sticks of apricot so I dont run out and smell again-at last!!!

same rash will occur if you don't use deodorant for a week or more during hot summer days. if you don't believe me try it, the mayor difference is that with this product at least you don't smell like a moose

3.I'm willing to bet that most of the rashes posted are caused not by the deodorant its self but your natural chemistry. years of blocked pores now freed, hormones increase causing pores to swell at first and bacteria to form. NATURAL. this will stop

2.This product is a deodorant with mostly an antibacterial effect, meaning you will still sweat and plastering your armpits with half of the deodorant stick will only make you sweat more, hindering any effect at stopping odor with ANY DEODORANT

Loved the scent. Hated that I stunk less than 2 hours after applying. Every time I applied...For a week. I'm giving up on this one since I can't be stinky at work.
