We are very sad to see that the Fennel paste is no longer offered. We have since tried several of the new flavors and none has come close to working. Unfortunately, many who are SLS sensitive are also sensitive to mint flavors. It is really disappointing that we can no longer use Tom’s of Maine products because they don’t offer an SLS free option that is not minty.

I have used TOM's Clean & Gentle since it became available. Plainly put: it makes my mouth happy! A non-flouride version would be great since I like to alter how often I use it, but this is the best toothpaste I have ever used!

I use to get canker sores inside my mouth all the time. The ones in the back of my throat were torture. Because this toothpaste avoids using SLS, a forming ingrediant this inflames nicks and cuts inside the mouth. It has a excellent chance of healing

What happened to the one without SLS and without fluoride?!? Nobody carries it anywhere. :( SLS-free is necessary for my son's mouth to not burn, and I will not allow him to be exposed to fluoride, a carcinogen.

It was a sad day when “Tom’s of Maine” sold out, and became a subsidiary of Colgate Palmolive in 2006, with Colgate Palmolive owning 84% and Tom’s of Maine with only 16% shares owning in their once all natural company. Since the take over my family has noticed that more and more poisonous toothpaste with fluoride is being manufactured by Colgate Palmolive-TOM’S OF MAINE. For people who have educated themselves on fluoride, a highly toxic substance, derived from the waste by-products of the Aluminum Companies, and its devastating affects on human’s teeth, it is truly sad that Tom’s of Maine is no longer an all natural product. IMHO, Tom’s of Maine has a responsibility to the public by informing them that the company is truly owned by Colgate Palmolive, and should state such on the products.

The new packaging had me confused; bought a tube of spearmint "clean and gentle" since I couldn't find or figure out what the old spearmint baking soda toothpaste would be packaged as now. This stuff tastes HORRIBLE!!!!!!! I hope the spearmint-baking soda toothpaste still exists; doesn't seem to at our co-op.

Tastes gross, I had to switch to a different brand natural SLS-free toothpaste because this "mint flavor" tastes too anise-like and has a funky texture. Not to mention that Tom's is now just Colgate's (a right-wing company) natural branding line.

I used regular Colagate for years, then started to have an itchy roof of my mouth after I brushed. A gal at my co-op reccommended this SLS-free toothpaste and it has been awesome. My dentsit loves the fact that it has xylitol and I have noticed less plaque and buildup since using this product.

I used to get canker sores constantly... for years. I read about the potential cause being SLS and thought I'd try toothpaste without. I wanted to try Tom's because I read it was the best online, but Tom's is in my area... just not the SLS free ones. First I used Burt's Bees because it is in my area SLS free... and the sores reduced, but not enough. I then searched for this website to order myself. My first purchase was 3 tubes.... INSTANTLY the canker sores I had healed and then for the duration of the tubes I didn't get a single canker sore!!! Thank you Tom's, you are an improvement on the quality of life.
