Laura Morcom, B.S. Project Chemist, Body Care Laura Morcom came to Tom’s after earning a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from the University of New Hampshire in 2006. She joined Tom’s in July of 2006 as an Intern in the Research Department and then moved into her current role in September of the same year. Prior to joining Tom’s of Maine, Laura worked as a laboratory assistant in the microbiology lab at the New Hampshire Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory. She has also worked as a field research assistant for the Lakes Lay Monitoring Program, conducting water quality tests on many New Hampshire lakes and streams. Laura also spent three summers at the University of Maine as a member of a field crew conducting research on cover crops for various sustainable agriculture practices. Laura is primarily involved in body care formulation and stability testing here at Tom’s. She has worked on updating existing formulas for our Long-Lasting Deodorants and is excited to start working on other body care projects as the opportunity arises.
