Product certifications

Kosher, Halal, American Dental Association, and Cruelty-Free

OU kosher symbol

Tom's products have carried the kosher certification since 1990. All of our products except our bar soaps (which are the only products we don't make in our own factory) are manufactured under the supervision of the Kashruth Division of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations and are certified as kosher and pareve. Please note, however, that only our Long-Lasting Deodorants
are kosher for Passover, and that some newly approved products may not yet bear the OU Kosher symbol.

Halal symbol

Halal is an Arabic word meaning lawful or permitted. Since 2006, all of our products have carried the Halal endorsement, which certifies that they are made in accordance with Islamic guidelines under the supervision of the Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America (IFANCA).

ADA Seal

In 1995, our original formula with fluoride was deemed safe and effective by the American Dental Association (ADA), becoming the first natural toothpaste to bear the ADA's Seal of Acceptance. Since then, our fluoride children's toothpaste, fluoride mouthwash, and floss have been awarded the ADA Seal. Learn more about our Seal products.

PETA Cruelty-Free logo

The PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) Caring Consumer Program provides shoppers with information on products that have not been tested on animals. Participating companies must complete a short questionnaire and sign a statement of assurance before being approved by PETA as cruelty-free.
