Julia Venell, B.S. Formulation Chemist, Oral Care Product Development As a formulation chemist, Ms. Venell has been involved with the product development of several toothpastes and mouthwashes including Whole Care pastes; anticavity gels and liquid gels; anticavity toothpaste for a dry mouth; homeopathic toothpaste; and tartar control and soothing mouthwashes. Her responsibilities include performing stability testing and transitioning new products to production. Ms. Venell researches, tests, and provides documentation for prospective ingredients while also supporting the research group with prototypes. Ms. Venell worked as a chemistry lab instructor at the University of New England before joining Tom’s of Maine in 2002. She holds a degree in Environmental Chemistry from Northland College in Ashland, WI. Favorite Tom's product? "Well that's easy for me! I have never been a big mint fan. I use Cinnamon-Clove Whole Care Toothpaste."
